The story
The brief
It started as a fix for my own trading. Every prop firm account lived on a different platform, so managing positions and risk meant juggling MT5, cTrader and DXTrade side by side. I wanted one place to trade, manage risk and review performance across all of them, and it turned out plenty of other traders did too.
What I built
I bootstrapped CuroLabs as a single interface over MT5, cTrader and DXTrade. Traders could execute and manage orders across every connected account, copy trades between accounts, automate partial take-profits and trailing stop losses, set risk rules for a single account or across all of them, and keep a trading journal in the same place. Under the hood, a set of Python services handled FIX connectivity, MetaTrader 5, trade copying, trade management and performance metrics, talking to each other over RabbitMQ and sending traders instant alerts on Discord and Telegram.
The result
CuroLabs took on investment and was acquired within 18 months. I stayed on through the transition, leading a team of eight through the rebrand to PropFirmOne, a full redesign and a new React Native mobile app, and managed the project through to relaunch. Over 5,000 traders registered after the relaunch.
